ZumbAtomic Performance at Aikahi!
Thanks to Yumi Kraft, ‘Aikahi’s after school ZumbAtomic instructor, her students were able to perform the ZumbAtomic dances they learned this spring for all Aikahi students during school lunch on Monday. They did a great job and it was so much fun to watch! By the end of both performances, almost every student was dancing! In case you missed it, here’s a video clip:
And, just in case one or more of your children performed and you didn’t get to see it, please let me know so that I can share more video clips and photos with you. Just email me at carabarber@earthlink.net.

May PTSA Newsletter
Aloha! Below you can view and/or print the May PTSA Newsletter, our last newsletter of the 2012-2013 school year. I apologize for its length, but there were just so many great events and activities that happened at ‘Aikahi Elementary both this month and last that generated a lot of great material to cover.
This is also the last newsletter I will do on behalf of ‘Aikahi PTSA. I have really enjoyed serving our school and community as the PTSA Publicist these past 2 years and have considered my work on our monthly newsletters, the PTSA website and our Facebook page as labors of love. Yet, it’s time to move on and I’m happy to announce that next year Jennifer Johnson will create the PTSA Newsletters, while Melanie Moore will manage email and online PTSA communications. I thank them both for so graciously volunteering to take on these responsibilities and look forward to hearing from them in the months ahead. Most importantly, though, I want to thank you all for allowing me to serve our school and community in this way these past 2 years! I feel so blessed to be part of such a great community, one that is so dedicated to supporting our children and families . . . and have really enjoyed working with and getting to know you all!
All my best,
Cara Barber, ‘Aikahi PTSA Publicist 2011 – 2013

Aikahi Elementary School Announcements for Friday, May 17th
Aloha! Please don’t forget that the ‘Aikahi Playground Cleanup is this Saturday, May 18th from 9am – 11am! In addition, there will be a Garden Party happening at the same time! So, there’s a lot of work that needs to be done this Saturday to clean and maintain a safe and functional playground for our keiki and to prepare ‘Aikahi’s gardens for the summer break. Please bring your whole family to ‘Aikahi this Saturday to help with both of these wonderful community service projects! Your help will be immensely appreciated! Mahalo!
